 On May 30th & 31st Cats Ahoy had the pleasure of attending the Open House! This was the grand opening event to introduce the public to their brand new fantastic facility! We had behind-the-scenes tours of the vet clinic, animal holding, and we could see first hand that the new building was huge, bright and fresh... definitely not that cinderblock institution feeling! And best yet... we were able to take a boat load of photos to share with you! We hope you enjoy checking out their facility as much as we did! |

What a beautiful day for a grand opening! Here you see the front entrance of the shelter, with its pretty store facade.
When you walk in the Adoption Entrance you see a bright hallway with a tall ceiling framed by skylights! There is a wood beamed ceiling, rather like a boat... Cats Ahoy heartily approves! ;-)
Rather than plain drag concrete everywhere, they have finished the floor with a concrete stain to give it a warm friendly feeling. This sweet paw print pattern is in the main adoption foyer.
There are a lot of current and past Calgary Humane Society adoptions staff and volunteers working with us at Cats Ahoy. I just had to take a photo of their adoption area! Check out them digs, girls! ;-) A desk area and shelving and storage and a sky light, oh my!
